What's the difference between resize by pixel, by percent, and by preset?

By pixel sets exact W × H. By percent scales the source by a factor — 50% halves both dimensions. By preset snaps to a published size like Instagram 1080×1080 or the App Store iPhone 1320×2868. All three pass through the same encoder, so output quality stays consistent across modes.

Does resizing lose image quality?

Down-sizing is generally clean — the encoder samples the source and writes fewer pixels. Up-sizing is interpolated; small upscales (≤200%) look fine, but heavy upscales soften noticeably. The studio shows you the new W × H and an output preview so you can decide before exporting.

How does smart crop pick what to keep?

It uses focus points — centre, top, bottom, left, right — to anchor the crop window when the target aspect doesn't match the source. You pick the focus mode; the engine clamps the crop so the focal region stays in frame across ratio changes. You can always drop the overlay manually for fine control.

Can I batch-resize a folder of images?

Yes. Drop multiple files, set the resize options once, and the queue applies the same settings to every input. Combine with Convert in a recipe to ship a whole folder as WebP at a target dimension in a single zip.
