What they do, and what they don't.

Your choice of lock
Protect sets an open password, an optional owner password, AES-256, AES-128 or RC4-128, and what readers may do.

Keep the password
If you lose the open password, nobody can open the file — FyPDFs can't recover it.

Unlock needs it
Unlock removes a password you know. It doesn't break or guess passwords.

Unlocked pages are pictures
The unlocked copy is drawn again page by page, so its text can't be selected.

Sign is a stamp
A typed name on the last page, with a reason, a place and the date if you want them. For signature fields, use FySign.

Redact finds patterns
Emails, phone numbers, US SSNs and card numbers you tick — baked into the page, so the text isn't underneath.

Is Sign a certificate signature?
No — it's a visible stamp on the page. It doesn't add a cryptographic certificate.
Can I draw my own redaction boxes?
Not yet. Redact finds the patterns you tick; look the result over before sending it on.
Is it free?
Unlock PDF runs in your browser, free. Protect PDF, Sign PDF and Redact PDF run on a server, so they're part of Cloud Pro (100 cloud runs a month, files up to 100 MB).
Are my files uploaded?
For Protect PDF, Sign PDF and Redact PDF, yes — after you sign in, and the result is saved to your FyDrive, where you can delete it. Unlock PDF keeps the file on your machine.
